The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Most solar systems are binary systems, so the fact that ours is too is not surprising. There's the sun we're told about, that shows up in the sky every 24 hours. The other sun is a brown dwarf, which emits no visible light, only infrared. It's far smaller than the Sun with maybe 3% of the mass of the Sun. It's on an extremely elliptical orbit and only comes close to the Sun every once in a long while. This 'pulse' they've found is the length of that second sun's orbit. That means it comes in very close to the Sun then gets thrown very far away, a 'slingshot', so far that it's about another 27.5 million years before it returns. There was a major extinction event 55 million years ago, the Paleocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum (PETM). What's 27.5 million x 2? Hey, that's exactly 55 million years. No coincidence there. Our second sun won't come close to the EARTH on every trip into the solar system though, so how BADLY the Earth is affected will be more random, but every time it comes through, the Earth does get affected to some degree. That is the repeating pattern they've detected, with some passes being worse for the Earth than others...
