The seas, lakes and oceans are now pluming deadly hydrogen sulfide and suffocating methane. Hydrogen sulfide is a highly toxic water-soluble heavier-than-air gas and will accumulate in low-lying areas. Methane is slightly more buoyant than normal air and so will be all around, but will tend to contaminate our atmosphere from the top down. These gases are sickening and killing oxygen-using life all around the world, including human life, as our atmosphere is increasingly poisoned. Note: Before this smell info, I was thinking they probably got poisoned in the water at the beach or the pool or the hotel shower, but that they died after there was a 'funny smell' indicates that they probably got gassed to death. The doctors there say 'natural causes' for both of them. That's an indicator that they were killed by hydrogen sulfide - it doesn't stick around in the body very long and there is no clinical test for hydrogen sulfide poisoning, so the deaths generally look like 'natural causes'. Also, hydrogen sulfide at medium-high or higher concentrations doesn't have that unpleasant 'rotten egg' odor. Different people describe it differently, because people's brains are different. Some say it's flowery, or sickly-sweet, or like licorice, or chemically. Not terribly unpleasant, just weird, unfamiliar...
